Maurits learned his cricket at VRA but then played for Kon. UD Deventer for several seasons, returning in 2001. He has since made 1428 runs at an average of 28.56, and is a member of the national squad. Maurits also had two years with the MCC Young Cricketers at Lords. He played in the EurAsia Cup in Abu Dhabi, making the highest score by a Dutch player with 60 against India A in the final game. Maurits died at the age of 25 after an accident in Cape Town on 24 September 2008 |
