Paul Nixon Benefit Twenty20
VRA is host venue for a four day match Netherlands vs. Bermuda on 13-16 August.
On the fourth day (Thursday 16 August) Leicestershire (English Twenty20 champions of 2006) will take on a VRA (six time Netherlands champions in the last nine years) in a Twenty20 match from 6.30 in the evening as part of Paul Nixon’s (England’s national cricket team wicket keeper) benefit year. There’s a double connection between the clubs: former South African Test spinner Claude Henderson was player-coach at VRA for a year before joining the English county, while Leicestershire opener HD Ackerman’s father Hylton was VRA’s first-ever player-coach back in the late 1970s.
